My favorite seasonal summer foods are my mother's noodle salad, and my grandmother's potato salad. As a child they were prepared for every summer get-together. Just the thought of them makes me want to run through the sprinklers in the back yard. Bring on summer!

blueberries. oh the blue popping....
ReplyDeletealthough strawberries are the predictable i-haven't-eaten-you-all-winter-i-want-more summer fare, i still stick with them. in fact, the hard, pinky grocery store winter strawberries can almost c0nvince you that you lost your taste for them. that's why i say HAND'S OFF 'TIL SUMMER! well, technically spring/summer but really there is nothing better than a strawberry that you pick all by yourself & eat, sweating in the sun.
