July 1 Giveaway

Today I'm collaborating with the lovely Jordan and Jason of Enormous Champion.
They are offering one of their delightful
Animals Amassed Tea Towels.
This towel is made in the USA on 100% Belgian linen.
The linen is a lovely shade of natural beige/flax colored linen, and silkscreened with a warm grey ink.
Their logo is in the bottom right corner of the towel.

It measures approximately 20 x 25 inches.
This towel looks as good framed as it does in the kitchen!

Which brings me to the question I'd like you to answer in order to enter the contest.
Decoration or function ? Do you hang lovely tea towels as artwork or watch them
change over time with all your lovely food stains ?
Place the comment below and 1 lucky winner will be picked on July 8th.

  1. I frame them I'm afraid. I couldn't get ketchup on Marimekko it would just be weird! Thanks also for the feature Claudia, so thrilled to see it!

  2. i hang + drape them...but in my studio! so maybe they get a few coffee stains, which are ok by me!

  3. I tend to use even the lovely ones but I do save those for when guests are visiting. I would definitely consider framing one like this, though.

  4. tough call. i try to use them, but sometimes i can't bring myself to and must just look at them.

  5. I hang them on hooks- I want to be functional, but when it comes down to the time to use them i just can't!

  6. I use them! Using something lovely gives me a lot of pleasure. Plus, I don't have room in my apartment to store tea towels for special occasions (read: tiny NYC kitchen). Also, I hope some day to make a table cloth out of used tea towels like the one my mom made of those old-fashioned calendar tea-towels (beginning with 1955!). The stains add to the charm and it's a great picnic cloth.

  7. I use them! Beauty that is also functional is awesome.

  8. i've been known to do both, but primarily I use my tea towels and love them more with each use.

  9. I love them too much to get them dirty. They usually end up adorning our kitchen walls.

  10. i used them to dry dishes but always hang over my stove so their beauty can be appreciated as well!

  11. I use them, but generally only to dry hands or dishes. When I simply can't bring myself to do that, I'll hang them on the wall framed, or sometimes in an old embroidery hoop :)

  12. Space is so limited in my home, that we have functional decoration. My most lovely tea towels are reserved for drying of clean hands, so it take quite a bit before they become the "dirty cleaning rags."

  13. I live with roommates so I don't put anything out that I don't want to get ruined. So I guess I would be in the "framed" category.

  14. I use the pretty ones for light work like drying dishes or covering rising bread. I have a bunch of plain tea towels that get really dirty from squeezing the liquid out of frozen spinach and such!

  15. I use them! And never considered framing or otherwise until visiting a friend recently who had a great tea towel framed. At that moment, I realized how much I secretly love tea towels. I give them as gifts hoping to turn on others.

  16. I would smile longingly as I dry my hands.

  17. I could never use a towel as lovely as this one - I'd hang it on the handle of my stove instead.

  18. I always use them, but I might have to make an exception for this one it's so lovely!

  19. tack it on the wall, like a piece of art

  20. Tea towels are art, but they call out to be used. So, I use most of mine to dry, reserve some as art and a couple have become curtains!

  21. they're practical art! it makes me happy to switch the towels up often, and that way none get too dirty (the big jobs get their own towels which stay hidden), and the look of the room changes frequently.

  22. i use my tea towels, but that doesn't mean i don't want them to be pretty! i use tea towels to decorate in the kitchen, hanging them off of the refrigerator door and the oven handle but i grab them right up as soon as i need something to wipe my hands on or to protect the table from a hot pot! this tea towel is beautiful (as are the ones in your etsy store!!)

  23. I use them for use in the kitchen, but always hanging over the handle for folks to enjoy.

  24. Function for me. I like to have these little pieces in my mundane daily chores to make me smile. My Pantone mug for my morning coffee will always make me feel special. Use, use and feel happy x

  25. so pretty! I'm trying to make the switch from paper towels, and these would definitely get me on my way!

  26. first i hoard them for a while. i keep them folded and pull them out to show friends. then in a fit of pique i begin to use them in the kitchen and for a few months i avoid pasta sauce. then i just let go.

  27. Decoration! It's silkscreened beauty!

  28. What a gorgeous design! I have some limited edition teatowels from Third Drawer Down that I hang on the wall using clips (haven't got around to framing or stretching them on a canvas). However, I also have some arty teatowels that I use.

  29. I feel that using tea towels as decoration is a goal in life for me - one day have a bigger kitchen, be more organised and wash dish towels more often so I could save the pretty ones for decor only. However, I tend to look after nice things really well so if I had such an attractive one - I may actually enter that phase in life a lot sooner :)

  30. I use them, but they do serve to decorate too! I try not to get them too dirty :)

  33. I never own a pretty tea towel, but I guess if I own one, I will still use it. That being said, I'll probably wash it frequently and avoid using it for heavy duty :P

  34. I love to use them. I feel like I get more enjoyment out of them that way and I get to buy more pretty towels to replace the ones that have to be thrown out over time.
