News From My Studio

Life has been unbelievably hectic since I last managed to post way back in May and I'm realizing that it's time to delegate and hire people to help me out more.

It's been an interesting 2 years growing my product line and at the same time taking on
more and more commercial illustration work.
It certainly feels amazing to be filling my days with all this creativity and observe how both ends of my business feed each other.
I've also hired a great team to redesign my website so will soon have a comprehensive portfolio, shop and blog all under one roof.
Then I'll be posting up-to-date news and some behind the scenes pictures of projects in progress.

In the meantime, please be patient and continue to follow me as there will be more consistency in 2013.

Here are some projects I've been busy on. I'm also working on 2 more collaborations with Chronicle Books, a joint venture with the American Museum of Natural History and a wonderful new restaurant opening in Chelsea Market - more to come on those.

First up is a chance to win my Perpetual Calendar. Last week I wrote a piece for the Chronicle Books blog and if you head here and place a comment you might win.

I've also had the pleasure of illustrating for Everyday with Rachel Ray on a regular basis.

And Southern Living Magazine.

 Detroit Bride Magazine.
Healthy Cooking Magazine.

Recently at the Brooklyn Flea I met 2 lovely Japanese people who run a company called East out of Tokyo. They have the great job of curating museum stores in Japan and hired me to design a tea towel, tote and t-shirt for an upcoming exhibit from a collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. They wanted to explore Brooklyn and show their visitors some typical neighbor hood sights.
