OCTOBER 1ST GIVEAWAY
Back in July I wrote about Kelly Lasserre, an illustrator who draws her inspiration from everyday observations.
I'm excited that she has donated an 11 x 14 print for one lucky winner.
All you have to do is post a comment below on your dream meal and the winner will be announced on October 7th. Good luck and think up something yummy !

ReplyDeleteNB: hard to come by if you're not in Venice
Living now in the West Coast, I really miss the Caribbean influences. My favorite meal is rice and beans, side of plantanos (tostones), guacamole (chunky tomatoes, lime, cilantro, red onion, dash of cayenne, garlic, salt & pepper) and of course, a mojito!
ReplyDeletethe perfect meal would be with my beautiful daughter zoya and include a bowl of thick greek yogurt with fresh figs and a drizzle of honey, walnut/wheat bread spread with nutella, and a latte with thick organic milk. yum!
ReplyDeleteIn my family of 32 strong ( irish, a tribe of full-bellied humorous morbidity ) we have a "your last meal of earth" game. These are immortalized in the family cookbook and by age 7 , the age of reason, even the kids have to declare their proclivities. We make the Last Meal for each other on special occasions: birthdays, breakups with boyfriends, passing the bar, completing triathlons. Occasions when you feel like dying (and need a tactile reason to live), or those when you are so perfectly happy you could expire joyously, gentle into the night... Mine is this: duck breast with madeira sauce, wild rice with onions and cranberries, perfectly cooked bright green asparagus with lemon butter, a bowl of wild raspberries with vanilla whipped cream on the side. We take our food seriously: even once shot my own ducks to make it. A large glass of a good Cotes du Rhone (or if my brother-in-law is offering, vintage Bordeaux, completes the dream.
